E. Lesvignes‘In the sandstone chaos near Fontainebleau is a triptych engraved 21,000 years ago, at the same time as the Lascaux cave. Two horses frame a woman’s advert, which reminds today’s visitor of Gustave Courbet’s painting The Origin of the World.
This state of the art session will provide an opportunity to discuss the workings of this Palaeolithic installation with the author, and to draw links with Courbet’s imagination in the light of comparative mythology.
