R. ValletTell Dehaila, a town of 47 ha dating from the 18th-17th centuries BC, is located 36 km south of Larsa, on the banks of a branch of the Euphrates that was active until the middle of the 1st millennium BC. The site has been studied by an Iraqi-Russian team, with the participation of specialists from other countries, since 2018. In 2024, photogrammetry provided highly detailed images of the city and 19 km2 of its surroundings, complemented by very clear geomagnetic mapping of a third of the urban area.
