Marisol LeónThis exhibition is part of the project ‘Andean pottery knowledge: ceramic production, circulation and use in southern Ecuador and northern Peru’, sponsored by the Arcadia Fund and the British Museum’s Endangered Material Knowledge Programme. The exhibition was inaugurated on 1 August at the headquarters of the French Institute of Andean Studies in Lima. Based on fieldwork carried out between 2022 and 2023, it aims to present the shared features and local particularities of domestic ceramic production in a region rarely considered as a whole. Today’s political borders have artificially severed a whole series of links that have united its inhabitants since ancient times.
