S. PlutniakSébastien Plutniak (UMR 7324 CITERES-LAT), Élisa Caron-Laviolette (UMR 8068 Temps) and Anaïs Vignoles (Service d’archéologie préhistorique – Université de Liège) will be running a training course on the ArcheoViz application on 26 November 2024 at the MSH Val-de-Loire.
archeoViz is an application that enables archaeological field data to be visualised, explored interactively, displayed and communicated rapidly on the web.
It offers 3D and 2D visualisations, generates cross-sections and maps of archaeological material, and displays the chronology of excavations at a site. Simple spatial statistics can be carried out, and data can be exported to other online applications for more complex methods.
Overall aim: The aim of this course is to empower participants in terms of 1) exploring spatialised archaeological data and 2) sharing and exploiting this data on the web. These objectives are pursued through the use of applications (free and open source) from the archeoViz ecosystem.
