Unique Research Experiences: “Clay in All Its Forms”

,

“Les Visites Insolites” by CNRS offers unique experiences every year, in small groups, at the heart of research.

In 2025, the UMR TEMPS organized a public visit on the theme “Clay in All Its Forms,” designed and led by Emmanuel Baudouin, Mathilde Jean, and Fanny Bocquentin. On this occasion, a film was produced by Paul Rambaud, a filmmaker at the MSH Mondes.
The film showcases the various activities offered to participants:

  • Screening of the film “Becoming Sedentary: When the Hamlet of Eynan-Mallaha Testifies to the World’s Shift” (Jordan Valley)
  • Workshop on building with 3D-printed bricks, modeled after findings from the Tepe Gawra site (Iraq)
  • Ceramics workshop using materials from the archaeological excavations at Tel Arca (Lebanon): identifying, classifying, and reassembling to understand the evolution of techniques
  • Workshop on making raw earth bricks

This workshop received support from MSH Mondes.
