Roxane RoccaSince 2022, the « PALEO. Paleolithic Italy » program of the French School of Rome has focused on three areas—Central Italy, the South, and Sicily—to study population dynamics. This research has helped refine the chronostratigraphic framework, as well as the evolution of climate, landscapes, and technical traditions. Italy serves as a privileged laboratory due to its geological context and the excellent preservation of its sites. The round table will present these results and propose an environmental and cultural synthesis. This data will finally be compared with that from other regions to place Italy within a broader European context.
