CORE Reference Collections, Scheduling and Review

DIM-PAMIR 2024 Project (implementation 2025–2026)

CORE Reference Collections, Scheduling and Review

Project leaders: Olivier Bignon-Lau (UMR TEMPS) and Marjan Mashkour (UMR BioArch)

Summary: The CORE project aims to undertake systematic work to produce and develop a fully operational platform for reference collections within UMR 8068 TEMPS. This platform brings together collections of various kinds (archaeological, experimental, naturalistic, ethnological), for which the state of knowledge is not uniform. The CORE project aims to provide efficient and documented access to all the reference collections of UMR 8068 TEMPS. This requires, first of all, the implementation of systematic work to standardise the organisation of the collections in their physical dimension, which involves: (1) the creation of a procedure to identify each item within all the reference systems; (2) producing databases for each of these collections and the publications associated with them; (3) deploying an ergonomic layout for the repositories to ensure easy consultation. The CORE project targets several audiences wishing to physically access the platform’s reference collections. Firstly, researchers, post-doctoral students and doctoral students will be able to consult these collections with a view to completing them or even creating new ones.
