Le dernier chasseur de rennes

The 17th biannual Amiens Archaeological Film Festival took place from 8 to 13 April, showing the 40 films selected (out of the 200 submitted). The film “Le Dernier Chasseur de Rennes”, featuring many members of the Pincevent scientific team and co-produced by UMR 8068 TEMPS, was awarded the Prix Jules Verne 2024. This prize is awarded to the film that best highlights the human adventure aspect of archaeology (extract from the jury’s opinion):

“We were deeply moved by this real “human adventure” (…). The evolution of our world raises questions about the future of communities, threatened by historical events, the impact of modernity and global warming. We must therefore remain sensitive to the preservation of these memories, because the cultures and identities of each individual represent an exceptional wealth of our humanity, and are part of the evolution of a common history”.

The Pincevent team, L.J. Costa and J.-M. Martinetti (scriptwriter and producer) gratefully acknowledge the assistance of the SRA Ile-de-France, the INSHS (CNRS Human and Social Sciences) and the management of UMR 8068 TEMPS.
