Elisa Caron-LavioletteA poster on the DOM-NAT post-doctoral project (E. Caron-Laviolette, F. Bocquentin) will be presented at the Fête de la Science, on the “DIMENSCIENCES” stand.
The adoption of a sedentary lifestyle at the end of the Palaeolithic marked a major change for human societies. The first round stone houses appeared in the Natoufian of the Levant, notably at the Eynan-Mallaha site, occupied for 2,500 years. The DOM-NAT project aims to study one of the oldest houses on the site, which has been rebuilt and reoccupied several times, using digital tools to analyse the archaeological archives. The aim is to understand the construction and use of space by these first sedentary societies.
