In the Near East, water has always been a fundamental element in the development of human societies. The project entitled ‘Water policies in the Near East, from Sumer to the present day’, which began in autumn 2023, is based on multidisciplinary approaches. It aims to cover a vast geographical area, from the eastern Mediterranean to the Persian Gulf, and to cover a chronological sequence from the first sedentary settlements to the present day.
