Members of Temps are taking part in Nanterre’s archaeology village to mark the European Archaeology Days:
To coincide with the archaeological digs being carried out by Inrap archaeologists and volunteer students, the town hall is setting up stands to welcome you, including those of the Nanterre tourist office, the Société d’Histoire de Nanterre, Inrap and the MSH – Mondes (Maison des Sciences de l’Homme) of the University of Paris-Nanterre and the CNRS.
Next door is the programmed excavation site in the Parc des Anciennes Mairies, where archaeologists offer guided tours. They are uncovering parts of the Collège Royal de Nanterre, founded in 1642 and dismantled during the French Revolution, as well as the ancient village inherited from the Middle Ages.
See the description of the workshops on the JEA 2024 website.
