As part of the symposium ‘Women of Light and Shadow’ ” From Women’s Work to Women’s Labour”, Catherine Baroin will speak on 19 September at 4.30 p.m. on the theme of women’s work among the Rwa people of Mount Meru in Tanzania.

Among the Rwa, women own nothing, but work tirelessly on the family farm, in the banana plantation and feeding the cows in the barn. Why? Because they are entitled to bananas and cow’s milk, the only income they have for themselves.
