Why was the GDR Silex created?
Meet the researchers from the UMR TEMPS involved in the GDR Silex at the Science Festival in Nanterre from 9 to 11 October!
Since 2006, six Collective Research Projects (PCR) on lithotheque networks, co-funded by the Ministry of Culture, Inrap, Paléotime and, in some cases, local authorities, have enabled the French petroarchaeology community to reach a consensus on a single method for inventorying and characterising silicites at three levels of observation: macro, meso and microscopic.
In 2022, a round table organised by the Société Préhistorique de France provided an opportunity to take stock of 15 years of experience and outline prospects for this work in the coming years.
