Dans le cadre du cycle de conférences d’archéologie orientale de l’Association des Amis de Larsa (AAL) nous accueillerons pour cette programmation 2024-2025 des chercheurs internationaux qui viendront présenter l’actualité de leur recherche dans le monde oriental. Mardi 10 décembre 2024, Aaron Schmitt (Heidelberg University) interviendra dans le cadre du cycle de conférences d’archéologie orientale.

In 2022 we reopened excavations in the North Palace on Tell Kuyunjik as part of the larger Nineveh Project based at Heidelberg University. We continued our work in a second season in 2023 which led to the discovery of spectacular new findings in Ahsurbanipals throne room as well as in the more peripheral areas of his palace. In addition, we could gain important new insights into the Post-Assyrian settlement of Nineveh on Tell Kuyunjik. In this lecture, we will present our results obtained so far and possible interpretations of these findings.
